Design-build is an integrated approach to construction that combines the design and construction phases into one unified process. Traditionally, design and construction were handled by separate entities: an architect or designer would create the plans, and a contractor would be responsible for building according to those plans. While this model can work well in some cases, it often leads to miscommunication, delays, and budget overruns.

With design-build, however, the architect, designer, and contractor all work together as one team from start to finish. This collaborative approach streamlines the entire process, ensuring that design goals align with construction capabilities, and that the project stays within budget and on schedule.
